The War On Drugs – Thinking Of A Place

In an era when people’s attention span is being constantly diverted and even our favourite songs often don’t exceed four minutes, it’s nice to see The War On Drugs bucking the trend. In true Pink Floyd style, Adam Granduciel and co. have brought us an 11-minute-long new single. ‘Thinking Of A Place’ should be well-received by those who enjoyed 2014’s Lost In The Dream. The ethereal sound of Adam’s guitar combined with the dreamy atmosphere and steady percussion is nothing short of magical. Much like ‘Under The Pressure’, just when you think the song is going to end, it keeps going. This may split opinion in terms of enjoyment but for those who like to get lost in this band’s tones, you’re in for a treat.
